From 2010 to mid-2022 Slow Money NC catalyzed the flow of affordable capital to sustainable small food enterprises, connecting neighbors and friends ~ ordinary people who care ~ to their local farmers and local food businesses to “bring our money back down to earth.”
Our goal was to create a future we all want to live in and a healthy local food system is an ideal place to start. We know we can’t wait for Wall Street or Washington to create equitable, resilient, healthy, caring communities for everyone. That’s up to us.
Since 2010, more than 250 people made 320+ low-interest Slow Money NC loans and equity investments to finance 140+ local and organic farm and food enterprises in North Carolina, totaling over five million dollars!
Currently we are not actively seeking additional projects, but we are happy to talk with you about other financing options. We are also not seeking potential lenders, but we are happy to tell you how to make a personal peer-to-peer Slow Money loan to the farmers and food businesses you wish to support.
